CLUELESS = TIPLESS

July 24, 2006 — A COUPLE of clueless waitresses missed out on a big tip the other night at the Cutting Room on West 24th Street when they disrespected a high-powered group who’d come to see “American Idol” finalist Sarah Mather showcase her new CD. Music honchos Jerry Blair, Jim Backus, Russ Teitelman, Tao owner Marc Packer, wristwatch mogul Benny Shabtai, and Joel Warren and Ed Tricomi of Warren Tricomi hair salons were among the guests the singer had invited. But when they tried to enter, the waitresses told them they’d have to pay the $10 entry fee charged to the general public. Little did they know the guys in the group routinely leave $1,000 tips. But not that night.
